What makes you feel proud?
I feel proud when I get to play a part in connecting people and watch as that relational connectivity unleashes new and beautiful things. Often times that new and beautiful thing results in someone having the space to find and use their voice. That makes me the most proud.
What keeps you up at night?
Dreaming about my part to play in turning Oklahoma City into a place of shalom. And thinking through how to invite others to ask themselves what part they play too.
Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?
The biggest influence in my life is God. He is who showed me my true identity. That understanding of who I really am changed everything.
What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
Shifting from years and years of people pleasing to finding and using my voice. It took vulnerability and courage to do the things necessary to heal. That healing made the way for the shift to occur.
One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?
I hope I have adopted ways to rest in a way that makes room for creativity and play, have had more practice in forgiving and have a new understanding about people I didn’t understand before. Oh and maybe by then I will have learned a new hobby (though I already have too many!).
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
To truly live, you must hold space for joy and grief at the same time. Having one without the other is only living half a life.
