Terri Gordineer
What makes you feel proud?
First, being a mother to my daughter. It is such a blessing to watch her walk into who God created her to be and showing the love of Jesus to others in her special way. Second, working at Branch15 and having the privilege to empower a woman to find her voice and equip her with truth to walk in freedom and redemption.
Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?
Pastor Ruffin Snow who led me to Christ when I was 8-years-old. He was more than my youth pastor at Eastwood Baptist Church. As a church bus kid, he was my consistent Godly father figure on earth.
One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?
I want to continue to grow in my relationship with Jesus. I don’t necessarily want to be different, just more intentional in walking in who God created me to be.
What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
The sudden loss of my husband of 15 years and becoming a widow at 34-years-old. After already miscarrying three babies, pregnant with the fourth and miscarrying that child two months later, it was a very difficult time. But the trauma and grief that I experienced doesn’t define who I am. It doesn’t mean God is not a good God. It means God never wastes a hurt and I can use my past experiences to empower ladies that have walked through similar situations and circumstances, that they too can have a safe and abundant life. I listen to the Holy Sprit and I choose to carry a silent trust even in the storms we walk through in this life.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
“If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. If you look at God you’ll be at rest.” - Corrie Ten Boom
