What makes you feel proud?
I am most proud of the work I do helping children grow and be their best selves. When I was five years old, my mom enrolled me into my first dance class. She made a few sacrifices to ensure I was exposed to the arts. As I have matured into adulthood, I have developed a servant heart and made the decision to help those who are in need. I created a community dance studio that offers dance classes to those who may not have the financial means to enroll in a traditional studio.
What keeps you up at night?
I often think about our society and all of the changes I have seen in my lifetime: the good, the bad and the indifferent. I also spend a great amount of time searching for “the why.”
Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?
The biggest influence in my life is my grandmother. Her story is incredible and I carry her DNA.
What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
Sometimes the biggest obstacle has been myself. Either because of the demands I put on myself, or not doing enough to push ahead.
One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?
I hope that my servant heart is even bigger!
