Emma Sullivan

What makes Emma Wildly Capable?

“I have never met someone as powerfully generous and caring as Emma. This woman not only pours her soul into her hard medical job, she gives herself to each person she cares about and never gives up on them. She’s the type of person who makes you want to be better.” MAISIE CROSS

What makes you feel proud?

Nothing makes me more proud than seeing someone I love choose Jesus for themselves. I also just love seeing people believe in themselves, advocate for themselves or step out in an area of risk because they believe that they are worth it.

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

Jesus, no hesitation. I aim to live every day of my life to bring glory to God, bring others closer to Him and bring myself into deeper relationship with Him.

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

I think I have been my own biggest obstacle. I am the queen of getting in my own way, whether it’s doubting my capability, believing lies or making decisions (or not making decisions) out of fear. I’m far more aware of it now, and I make daily effort to not be my own worst enemy.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

I hope I am more like Jesus, kinder to myself and a better friend, daughter and sister to those I love. I want to spend less energy on work, and more on building and deepening relationships.

What’s the single biggest problem you’d like to solve in your community?

Other than just desperately wanting more people to know Jesus, I really think a huge problem is lack of self-value. It’s incredibly apparent in the female community that we are always the first to throw our own stones, to not trust ourselves, to quiet the roar of the voice God gave us. I wish so desperately that we could learn to step out in confidence as the bold, brave beacons of hope we all are instead of believing the lies the world tells us.
