What makes you feel proud?
I think I’m most proud of the fact that I had the courage to step out of my corporate job nearly 10 years ago to start my own business. I took a big risk to walk away from a wonderful team and steady paycheck, but I was determined to have a successful business and be the kind of mom I wanted to be. I am so proud of my business, The Mustard Seed Agency; it has opened many incredible doors for me and I absolutely love the work I get to do. I treasure the times I was able to schedule client meetings around story time at the library with my toddler or impromptu trips to the zoo.
Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?
My faith in Jesus is an incredible influence in my life and it guides my steps. And right behind that, the next biggest influence in my life is my husband, Bradley. He is such a steady rock in my life; we were high school sweethearts and we have lived so much life together.
What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
I’ve faced many obstacles in every season of life but I know the toughest times can be used for good. I lost my father at a young age and that was very difficult. We also had three miscarriages before we had our only child and it was a devastating time. I’ve also experienced many struggles with my business and homeschooling has been one obstacle after another but I trust that God will see me through.
One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?
One year from today, I hope that I am still on a journey to continuously find healing for the things that get in the way of me being a present, connected parent as often as possible. And this really is the goal I have for all of my relationships. I want to let go of the things that don’t matter and live more spontaneously and love more!
