Always seeking humility, Stefannie believes her nomination in this magazine was actually a nomination for every woman who courageously spoke truth into her life and helped her grow closer to Christ over the years.

What makes you feel proud?

I feel so proud when I see a woman who has been traumatized, abused or neglected find her voice and walk into her identity. There is nothing more beautiful in life than empowering others.

What keeps you up at night?

My humanity. How can I be better? What needs to change for unity? What keeps me up at night are my limitations. And then, what allows me to go back to sleep, is realizing I am only called to do my part and as long as I stay in my lane and do what I am supposed to do, then I can reign the thoughts in and trust God to do His part.

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

Doing the hard emotional work of finding me and being at peace within my own mind and skin. Being confident in myself enough that when I look in the mirror, I love her. It has been the biggest obstacle, and continues to provide challenges in my life. I believe this is one of those areas that is a lifelong process.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

My Dad told me, "own your actions." He would tell me that if it's good or bad, own what you did and never lie about it. As I have grown up, I have learned that he was teaching me to be responsible in all things. It's also a lesson in being authentic and thinking before you speak. I haven’t always done that well, but I own it!

What’s the single biggest problem you’d like to solve in your community?

I would want every person to know without a doubt that they are good enough. They are good enough to love and receive love. They are good enough to risk and hope for great things in their life.
