Sang Rem

Sang is a wife, student & huge advocate for resettled refugees in Oklahoma City. Here’s how she describes her typical day:

I work full time as the Director of Student Support at the Spero Project, an organization that supports resettled refugees in Oklahoma City. I am also a Graduate Student at University of Central Oklahoma, so my days are pretty full. Most days, you will find me helping new neighbors through translation, transportation, advocacy, and support. I also lead an After School Program for students in the resettled refugee community where we complete homework assignments, practice reading, and play together. I’m a newlywed and we are close to both of our families, so most evenings will include me cooking for and spending time with everyone. Then I’ll attend class, study, or work on school assignments. I’m also involved as a leader in my church, so lots of my days will include time spent with my community there, too!
