Dr. Sharri Coleman

No matter what life throws at Sharri, she is committed to being consistent. She uses every platform available to her to help others recognize the beauty of God within.

What makes you feel proud?

My husband and I have raised two independent, socially-conscious, loving, motivated African American sons who are destined to be leaders and world-changers. I’m proud of us as parents and proud to know these two amazing young men.

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

My Mother! Although she has transitioned from this life, she is always guiding and loving me from above. She was a praying woman, who encouraged me to think big and do challenging things. She told me how beautiful I was, but that my inner beauty is what really mattered. I realized the importance of having a positive woman in my corner, so I am to be that voice of encouragement to others, especially women.

“With each challenge, heartache and heartbreak, I have grown. I am aware that everything is a lesson along my journey, so I don’t really sweat stuff.”

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

I don’t know if I can say that I had a major obstacle in my life. With each challenge, heartache and heartbreak, I have grown. I am aware that everything is a lesson along my journey, so I don’t really sweat stuff. It might hurt for a moment or even make me mad; but I’m grateful for the #bounceback mentality.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

I’m on a path that I may not fully understand at the moment so I want to remain open to the possibility that God is going to blow my mind. When I place my faith in God, while believing in myself there is nothing that’s impossible. Maybe this time next year, I will have written my second book. We shall see!
