What makes you feel proud?
What makes me feel proud is seeing others succeed and having the knowledge that I was there to support them at some point on their journey. I also feel proud when the programs I have had the opportunity to work on have the same impact.
What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
My biggest obstacle has been not thinking big enough or having enough confidence in my abilities. As someone that has extensive experience in a wide range of areas but is not highly specialized in a single area, I always thought I was lacking in something. It has only been over the last several years where I have come to realize that my mindset was what was limiting me. Having passion and skill in a single area is wonderful and beneficial. On the flip side of that, having a wide range of experience and knowledge can be equally beneficial if you just harness how to use it.
Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?
Our local innovators and entrepreneurs are the biggest influence in my life. These are the folks who see the solutions for everyday challenges. From the absolutely simple to the insanely complex, these individuals are out there finding ways to make lives better. It is my absolute honor to help create an environment where they have the ecosystem to find success.
What’s the single biggest problem you’d like to solve in your community?
The single biggest problem I’d like to solve in our community is figuring out how to get resources all working together toward the same goals. Whether it be in professional or personal areas of my life, I have seen time and time again the number of entities duplicating services and competing for the same set of resources. When we strategically start to work together toward a common set of goals, it is so much easier to utilize resources in a more effective and efficient way.
