Farah Antoine-Mayberry

What makes Farah Wildly Capable?

Farah is the founder of For The Village nonprofit, which serves to train birth workers of color to improve birth outcomes for marginalized communities.” TARYN GOODWIN

What makes you feel proud?

I am proud that I followed my heart and took the steps needed to serve my community. I’m proud that I didn’t let doubters hold me back. In spite of having a blessed but incredibly busy home life, I’ve created two businesses centered around providing birth-related support to families. I want my children to know what my passions are because my fight is also for their rights so I include them in many aspects of the work that I do.

What keeps you up at night?

Daily schedules for my six children, new ideas, future plans and the desire to lay on a beach!

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

God is the most influential being in my life. I want to follow a path that is created by Him and not by me.

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

Time management is an obstacle that I am slowly but surely working to improve. Money management for a family of eight is also another area that we are always looking to improve.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

In a year, I pray I have even more confidence in pursuing some of my personal and career goals. I pray I am surrounded by individuals who know how to support me and my family. I pray I have set the necessary boundaries with others to meet the needs of our household.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Surround yourself well.
