Andrea Fillmore

Andrea’s the definition of serving without an agenda. Whether it’s a community endeavor, a friend in need or one of her clients, she’s sure to show up big.

What makes you feel proud?

I’m proud of taking the leap into entrepreneurship. Most days aren’t easy. But I know I’d regret it if I didn’t try. I’m proud of the business I’ve built and the Hype Kit I created that helps businesses clarify their mission and communicate their value. I’m most proud when I see my friends succeed and smash their goals!

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

My friends and the OKC entrepreneur community. So many people here are truly gifted at their craft and building sustainable businesses. I couldn’t have launched my company or kept it going without their guidance and generosity. And I have to say my Mom! She is infinitely wise and always brings clarity and truth when I need it. I’ve learned so much from her and am proud of who she’s helped me become.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

I hope I’m giving more to my community in a measurable way. I hope to see my personal and professional growth blossom in new areas. I hope to have reached my goals for the current year and be building upon them for the future. I hope to have taken time to celebrate the big and small wins on my journey.

“Clarity brings people closer. I need to be willing to do the work to bring clarity with compassion.”

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

In her book, “Dare to Lead,” Brené Brown says “clear is kind.” I think about that a lot, whether it’s in my personal life or in the strategy I craft for my clients. That means I must be open to questions and feedback. Clarity brings people closer. I need to be willing to do the work to bring clarity with compassion.
