Marwah Alfulfulee

Although parenting and a high-stress job keep her busy, Marwah’s door is always open because her true passion is hosting and entertaining both friends and strangers.

What makes you feel proud?

I’m a project manager in a male-dominated industry now, but I’ve also lived through six wars and still can see good things ahead in my life. I’m proud because I never gave up. I never surrendered to all the stress. I migrated from the Middle East just 10 years ago. I’ve become a successful engineer/ manager, wife and mom for two young, strong girls.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

I hope I will be more settled and in a higher position at work. I hope to grab my inner peace and stick to it. Let things go more and more.

“I’m proud because I never gave up. I never surrendered to all the stress.”

What keeps you up at night?

Ideas for crafting that need to be executed at 3 a.m.! I do a lot of crafting and hand- painting glass.

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

Language. I taught myself English just through watching television and chatting with people.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Be yourself.
