Kristen Donovan

Unassuming from the outside, Kristen has transformed many lives in the city through her dedication to love and assist people who come from difficult places.

What’s the single biggest problem you’d like to solve in your community?

I would like to see all youth have a safe and positive environment to be in when they are out of school. I would like for them to be able to have mentors who they can depend on and seek advice from, especially when their parents are not physically or emotionally present.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

I hope I know Christ more deeply and that I have led others to know Him intimately.

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

Funding for our organization. There are a lot of great people who have a heart to do the kind of work we do, it is just a struggle to raise enough money to bring them on staff to grow the ministry.

“I would like to see all youth have a safe and positive environment to be in when they are out of school.”

What makes you feel proud?

When I see someone who I have helped find success, whether that is relationally, academically, vocationally or spiritually.

What keeps you up at night?

The knowledge that there is so much more that needs to be done.

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

Jesus. God putting on flesh and engaging the difficult situations that people experienced, their physics difficulties, their bondage, their hopelessness inspires me to daily seek to help people encounter Him and His redemption.
