What makes you feel proud?
Definitely serving my family, community and Jesus. Despite facing tough and challenging situations, growing stronger and better on the other side. I love lifting others up and encouraging them to reach their full potential. Despite a difficult upbringing with two mentally ill parents, I was adopted at the age of seven. Like many others, I have persevered through trauma and hardship. Despite life’s hardships I have been able to pursue and build the life of my dreams.
What keeps you up at night?
At times, I find myself struggling with the unsettling feeling that I cannot do everything on my own. That there are situations that I absolutely can’t control and I just have to “trust God’s plan” and “his perfect timing.” However, I have learned over the years to prioritize and focus on the most important to ensure that I am making the most of my time and efforts of what will yield the greatest return.
What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
Hands-down so far, the biggest obstacle that I’ve had to overcome is the fear of what others think. I have learned to keep my focus on Jesus and trust that if I am living for Him, that is all that truly matters. By prioritizing my faith and values, I have been able to overcome the fear of judgment and live a more fulfilling life.
One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?
I believe that there are still many people that God has planned for me to meet. Looking ahead, I pray that one year from today, every encounter, conversation and opportunity that comes my way will be a chance for me to share His love with others.
