Stefy Tomlin
What makes you feel proud?
Feeling like I have been able to make a difference in somebody else’s life whether a coworker, customer, friend or family. Being able to make an impactful contribution that was the result of my involvement and hard work.
What keeps you up at night?
Feeling like I am not being as productive with my team and not giving my best to others. Making a difference in my community is something that is really important for me and feeling like I could be doing more or better is something that I am constantly thinking about.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Be kind to yourself.
What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
I grew up in Ecuador and moved to the United States when I was 18 and started college here. This has been a really difficult transition coming from an entirely different country and culture and having to quickly integrate to a new one while on my own. It was very difficult being away from my family, friends and everything that I knew, but I think this experience has also strengthened my character and made me the person I am today.
One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?
In a year, I hope to have become more knowledgeable about innovation and the credit union industry and to have increased my circle of influence. I also hope to increase my involvement with the community and to have accomplished the goals that I set for myself..
