Shari Lopp

What makes Shari Wildly Capable?

Shari inspires me to work hard and give harder. It’s one thing to say you are going to help, but I see her doing it. Putting the pen to paper. Stepping in and helping, whether that is out front and center or doing someone’s dishes. Every day she meets people where they are.” MEGAN LOPP

What makes you feel proud?

My children and their families! I am proud that I have accomplished my primary goal in life, which has always been to encourage my children to “give back “ in this life. I am proud to be associated with several organizations and boards that do wonderful work.

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

There have been many people who have been encouragers and mentors. My parents, my professors in college, pastors and friends. I read daily and right now I would say that there are authors that are great influences in my life... Dr. Caroline Leaf is my current favorite. She gives hope!

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

I hope I am working less, traveling more, reading lots and having more spontaneous fun! I have a couple of ideas that I want to be developing.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Work hard, love God and love people.

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

I have had a wonderful life. There have been challenges but no tremendous obstacles. I have been blessed with a fantastic support group and when things have been tough I knew who I could call on for help. I don’t tend to think in terms of obstacles. I see things as challenges to overcome or find a way around.

What’s the single biggest problem you’d like to solve in your community?

I would like to see less domestic violence. I believe there are ways to develop more resources for women and children who are breaking free of an abusive lifestyle and educational programs to help prevent the culture of domestic violence.
