What makes you feel proud?
It makes me proud to see my younger sister desire to follow in my footsteps and become better than me. It also makes me proud to know that I may not always have made the best decisions but most decisions I’ve made have been worth it. I’m proud of my work ethic and tenacity.
What keeps you up at night?
I work in financial management and also have a non-profit and local leadership roles so there’s a lot to juggle. My ideas and vision for my careers keep me up at night. It’s so hard for me to shut down work and I tend to dream about it. I don’t see work as “work” because I am passionate about the work I do in both careers. It’s very rare that I dread going to work because I love my jobs and look forward to the new skills and lessons I’ll learn each day.
What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
The biggest obstacle in my life has been my own personal distractions. I allow fear of the unknown to slow me down and affect my confidence. I limit myself and the things I am truly passionate about and I find myself constantly reiterating and reminding myself of the affirmations that will remove my own obstacles while pushing me toward the finished life.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve ever received is to always have integrity and to become the woman the little girl inside of me would look up to. Following this advice has helped me make the best decisions for the best interest of myself without negatively impacting those around me.
