What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

In 2021, my uncle and mentor passed away suddenly. Not only were we dealing with the loss of a family member, but he also owned the company I worked at. We had 15 employees wondering what was going to happen to them. Two days after the funeral we went into negotiations with lawyers to try and buy the company. Trying to figure out how to borrow so much money and negotiating with family while going through the grief process is something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I was turned down by eight banks. Eventually, I found the right bank and the right lawyer and we were able to continue on the family legacy.

What makes you feel proud?

I am a gritty person. Grit isn’t necessarily something that can be built or learned, it’s just an innate sense to persevere. I am not afraid to face a challenge and for the most part, I can see the glass half full while I’m doing it. I truly believe that there’s not a single problem that someone else hasn’t figured out before me and if they can figure it out, so can I. With that being said, we all know this life can throw some punches at us all and I’m still here, still standing.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

I hope I’m a better version of myself. One of my favorite things is that each year I create a new habit because I just believe we are meant to evolve and grow as people. Whoever that future girl is out there, I can’t wait to meet her....also, if I could fit into my goal jeans that wouldn’t hurt either.
