What makes you feel proud?
I’m most proud when I see people (myself included) living into their gifting. The freeing sense of being who you are, creating what you love, and pursuing what lights you up is the greatest sense of accomplishment I can imagine. One life. One you. Make the leap.
Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?
My children are the biggest influence because nothing sparks a widened plain of view better than considering them. Anytime a moment feels too heavy, too hard or too insurmountable, I think of them and instantly find a better way forward. When my ego gets too loud, they bring my spirit and humility to the foreground. They remind me to play, wonder, dance, and laugh; they are my constant connection to joy and my greatest source of personal growth. They’ve stretched me in ways I didn’t know I could bend and shown me things I wouldn’t have learned without them. I am utterly grateful for both of them.
What keeps you up at night?
All the injustice, division, degradation of the planet, overwhelm of our tech-centric existence and the growing list of societal challenges occurring in our era. It’s not the challenges that keep me up, but our lack of collective response that feels so distressing. I am, however, equally inspired by all the exceptional individuals who make a positive impact and are driving better futures despite what could halt us all in our tracks. I focus on the latter, and contribute how I can, to rise anyway. That version of me is better for my valued relationships, myself and my outcomes.
One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?
I’ve spent my life reeling about the next future thing. It’s robbed me of so many present moments. For now, my strongest desire is to be. Be right here and feel comfortable, confident that it’s enough.
