Stephanie Brady

Pregnant with her first child, Stephanie became a widow at just 22 years old when she lost her husband in an accident. Not wanting that trauma to define her, she uses her own experience to remind others they’re never alone.

What makes you feel proud?

My family. When I see people I love choosing to love others well no matter how hard or how easy, choosing to be unselfish, choosing to put others in front of themselves, choosing to speak life, that makes me proud. Open hands, open heart, open home. That’s what I try to mirror daily to my family.

What keeps you up at night?

Honestly nothing. I know who I am, I know whose I am, I know where I’m going and I know who loves me and loves my children even more than I do. My world has been rocked by trauma, death and tragedy and these experiences have shaped me to live out Philippians 4.

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

Watching my first husband die in an accident while pregnant with our son.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

I only want to continue growing in my relationship with the Lord. Allowing His light to be the reflection others can see in me. I love people. All people. And I love working with people, I love talking, I love teaching, I love mentoring and discipling people to be what God has created them to be. Life keeps me humble. And I have experienced an anything but normal life, so I transparently use my experiences to hopefully encourage others.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

God’s word and God’s people are all that will remain.

“My world has been rocked by trauma, death and tragedy and these experiences have shaped me to live out Philippians 4.”

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

My husband. He is a rock. He is steadfast. He is loyal. He loves me unconditionally and he is the same loving, kind and genuine person to everyone he meets and when no one else is watching.
