What makes you feel proud?
I’m proud of the relationship I have with my daughter. Vulnerability is my superpower. I’m proud that I have the courage to stand in my integrity regardless of how others feel.
One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?
I like who I am right now. In fact, I love her. However, I understand that growth is a forever pursuit, so I hope I have evolved even more into who I was created to be.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Forgive not because you forget, but to free yourself.
What’s the biggest obstacle in your life so far?
I’m an empath so it’s very difficult for me to let go of making things better for others, at times. I have to constantly remind myself that some things are not in my lane and some things have to play out a certain way for the person to evolve. I don’t like to see people in pain.
Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?
I’m the biggest influence in my life because my quality of life is up to me. How we view and respond to life is a choice. I can say life happens to me or I can be very intentional about my thoughts and actions so I have a say on how I flow through life. Several years ago, I went through a difficult divorce and became head of the household while ensuring stability for my daughter. Despite being diagnosed with depression and insomnia, support from my supervisor led me to mental health care and changed my life. For over 15 years, I’ve focused on mental wellness, specializing in mindfulness and authenticity. Embracing our uniqueness helps us find purpose and live meaningful lives. I volunteer, serve on non-profit boards, mentor others, and encourage students to pursue their dreams. My goal is to connect people. Inspired by those who helped me become my authentic self, I aim to share this mindset, especially with youth, to celebrate our unique qualities.
