Natalie Kent

Through her activism with groups like Zero Waste OKC (which she founded) and her role at Focus Lab, Natalie uses her time and talent to promote causes she’s passionate about. Here’s how Natalie describes her typical day:

On a typical day, my morning begins around 5:30AM with an espresso before I head to the gym. I used to be a night owl but I found that I was constantly trying to rush to the gym after work, or having to skip if I worked late. Making the choice to become a morning person was a great decision that prioritized my physical health.I after the gym I eat breakfast (lately plain greek yogurt with strawberries and granola) and use the Headspace app and do a short 10-15 minute guided meditation before I start work. I find it helps me center my thoughts and create an intentional mindset for the day. COVID has permanently shifted my role to being 100% remote, so my daily commute is now a walk from my bedroom to my office around 8AM. My work day is a mix of presentations, briefs, internal meetings, shoots, emails and phone calls, one-on-ones with my team, Deepwork, and every day is different and fast-paced. I get to work with the most incredible clients in a variety of industries, and with an amazing team.No matter how busy I am, I always make time to eat lunch and drink plenty of water. I usually wrap up between 5:30 and 6 by taking my dogs for a walk. I found that having transition rituals like going for a walk helps me shift out of work mode. My husband and I usually cook dinner at home, and in the evenings lately I enjoy gardening or reading a book. I’m usually in bed by 9:30.
