Laura Cade

What makes Laura Wildly Capable?

Laura has managed to bridge the gap between transactional relationships and real friendships, something no other alterations shop has ever done before. Laura makes everyone feel heard and seen, a trait that makes everyone feel beautiful in their own unique way. TIFFANY HOLLIMAN

What makes you feel proud?

I am proud of my skills and passion. It’s hard for me to say “no” because I love helping others. I finally feel like I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing in life as the owner and lead sewist of my alterations business, OK SEW Co.

What keeps you up at night?

Creative ideas keep me up at night! I have a repurposed segment of my business called RE SEW Co. and I’m always thinking of ideas that I don’t have time to execute, but I’m working on that.

Who is the biggest influence in your life? Why?

I don’t believe I have just one influence in my life. Everyone and everything influence me. I want to make everyone proud and feel good whether that’s friends/family, clients or strangers.

What’s been the biggest obstacle in your life so far?

My biggest obstacle is finding a balance between passion and finance. I’m a passionate person who needs to enjoy what I do. However, being in debt from attending a private fashion school plus a university is a constant stress.

One year from today, how do you hope you’re different?

One year from today I hope I am one (or a million) step(s) closer to being financially confident with my business and personal life.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

“You stay friends with the people you’re supposed to stay friends with.” My brother-in-law said this to me when I was sad to move away for school. After several moves and just living life, he was absolutely right.
